Fibromyalgia/CFS Case Studies

On of the most important factors that will determine whether or not your fibromyalgia case will be approved or not relates to the judge assigned to your case.   As any Social Security disability lawyer will tell you, there can be a frustrating lack of consistency between judges – even judges in the same hearing office. The same case that Judge “A” will approve may be denied by Judge “B.”

Social Security does publish statistics that detail the approval and denial numbers for every judge in the country.  You can find statistical information about your hearing office and about the judge assigned to your case by accessing a web site called DisabilityJudges.com which publishes this information in a convenient and searchable database.

While you cannot change the judge assigned to your case, it is helpful to know if your judge is more or less likely to approve cases.  Experienced disability lawyers can prepare cases for appeal if they are assigned to judges who rarely approve cases.

You might also find it helpful to read case histories written up by experienced disability lawyers.  Atlanta disability lawyer Jonathan Ginsberg routinely writes up case histories of his cases and he has agreed to share s0me of these reports with Fibromyalgia-Disability.com.   If you are a lawyer or a claimant and you would like to share your story with this site, please email the publisher.

Each fibromyalgia case study contains background information about the client and his/her disability, strategies taken to argue the case before a Judge, details regarding the actual hearing and testimonies, and case outcomes with related commentary.

We hope you find these case studies informative about disability claims arising from Fibromyalgia and ways in which Fibromyalgia disability claims can be handled before a Judge.  Remember, however, that all cases are different and that these case studies merely serve as examples of case strategies and outcomes. The circumstances of your claim may differ greatly from the ones of those listed here.
